The major highlight of the Spiritual tour of Buddhist Shrines is, of course, Lumbini. It lies in southwestern Nepal; where Gautam the Buddha was born in 563 B. C. Because of Buddha’s birth, Nepal has remained the holiest pilgrimage of Buddhists from around the world; like the Mecca of Muslims and the Jerusalem of Christians. Gautama was born the prince of a powerful king Suddhodhana, belonging to the Shakya dynasty.

These pillars and the inscriptions in them have verified beyond any doubt and questions; that this was the place where Buddha was born. Moreover, the ruins of the ancient palace and the marker stone; marking the precise place where Buddha had touched the earth, have also been discovered.

Detail Itinerary
第 01 天 : Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel
Our office representative will receive you at the airport, and drop you at your hotel. Take time to rest and relax, and if you are still free, you can visit the Hanumandhoka Durbar Square and the temple of Kumari, the living goddess of Nepal.
第 02 天 : Visit Swayambhunath, Hiranyavarna Mahabihar, and Boudhanath
Swayambhuanth and Boudhanath are among very ancient Buddhist monuments. Swayambhunath Stupa is believed to have been built around 2000 years ago and the Bouddhanath Stupa around 1500 years ago. Swayambhunath stupa is the center of Vajrayana Buddhists of Kathmandu and Bouddhanath has been a holy shrine of Tibetan Buddhists, particularly. The other Buddhist shrine Hiranyavarna Mahabihar, also known as the Golden Temple, has similarly rich history. It is located in Patan near the Patan Durbar Square.
第 03 天 : Drive to Dhulikhel and then to Namobuddha
It is only an hour’s drive to reach Dhulikhel from Kathmandu. From then you can take a hike or drive to Namobuddha. This is a scenic hilltop where Buddha in his earlier life had fed a hungry tigress and her cubs with his own flesh. You will also see the particular tree under which he is believed to have done this act of supreme mercy. In the evening return to Kathmandu.
第 04 天 : Fly to Lumbini, Lord Buddha’s birthplace
Here you will see the Mayadevi temple, where Buddha had taken birth. Also, see the holy pond where Buddha was given his first ritual bath. There are also many other archeological sites enclosed within the sacred garden, which still retains its legendary charm as it was when Mayadevi gave birth to Buddha.
第 05 天 : Visit Tilaurakot
Although Lumbini has come under the spotlight from all the Buddhists, Tilaurakot, which lies only 25 km west of Lumbini is grossly neglected. But it was at this place where Buddha had spent 29 years of his life in his father’s palace who was a powerful king at that time. Here remain two out of three commemorative pillars built up by Ashoka during his visit in the third century B.C. You can see the remains of some stupas, some fort gates, old city walls and a moat in this place. You will also see the remains of the eastern gate of the palace, from where Buddha had gone out in search of enlightenment.
第 06 天 : Return to Kathmandu
We return to Kathmandu after completing the journey of various places related to Buddha’s life. Today you can visit one of the Thanka painting shops and buy a Thanka painting that narrates Buddha’s life or that sheds light on some other aspects of Buddhism.
